IPC Alumni General Assembly on May 8th 2021 – register now!

Dear member of IPC Alumni,

This is the official announcement of this year’s General Assembly which will take place online during the Online Reunion Weekend!

The General Assembly 2021 will take place on the 8th of May from 15:00 to 17:00 Danish time (CEST).

Are you a member, and do you want to participate? Then register as a voter! You can do it by clicking here and filling in the form. You can only participate if you register – you can read more about the reason why in the link!

You will receive information about how to join the meeting and how to vote once you have signed up!

The agenda for this year’s GA is as follows:

  1. Approval of the agenda. Election of chairperson and minutes taker
  2. Situation report from the board
  3. Approval of the revised yearly accounts
  4. Election of board members, substitutes, accountant and substitute accountant
  5. Stipulation of the yearly membership payment
  6. Upcoming activities
  7. New proposals & discussions
  8. Any other business

In addition, at this year’s GA there are 5 of the 9 board membership seats up for election, 4 seats for a two-year term and 1 seat for a one-year term. If you would like to run to be a board member, we encourage you to make an announcement in the IPC Alumni Facebook group with a few sentences explaining why you would like to run for the position. The elections will then be held during the online General Assembly. If you have any questions regarding this, or the above agenda, feel free to contact us at alumni@ipc.dk, or via private message on the facebook page IPC Alumni.

Volunteering at IPC with European Solidarity Corps

Joining IPC Alumni and giving all your best to the community? Promoting human rights, intercultural learning, understanding and tolerance? Developing yourself on a new level, taking up new challenges and projects?
NOW YOU CAN! We have prepared this special offer with EU program (ESC-European Solidarity Corps), for those who are looking for a space to DO GOOD.
Already next Autumn Term (18th July- 18th December 2020) you can become an European Volunteer and change the world!
Your tasks:
– developing personal projects based on your interest (with help and support from project facilitator)
– language support
– game nights
– coffee evenings
– opening place for students: coffee, tea, cookies
– facilitating activities promoting core values of IPC Student Union
– taking care of the Human Rights Café space and surroundings
– assisting in school events
– technical assistance during school events (after training)
– video, audio and photo documentation
– assisting in ongoing IPC Alumni projects
– promoting IPC Alumni
– writing articles for a webpage

Basic requirements
– 18-30 years old
– Residence in one of European countries,
– Have not taken part in another ESC or EVS programme before.
– Can arrive to Denmark 17-18th July .

Project costs (Inc. transportation) are covered by the ESC program.

IPC Alumni General Assembly 4th of May 2019

Dear member of IPC Alumni,

The board of IPC Alumni is hereby making a call for the annual ordinary general assembly of IPC Alumni!

The ordinary general assembly of IPC Alumni will take place during the Reunion Weekend 2019, more precisely on the 4th of May 2019 at 14.oo at IPC.

The agenda is as follows:

You do not need to be signed up for the Reunion Weekend in order to participate at the general assembly, yet we kindly ask you to leave IPC before dinner if you are not signed up.

At his years general assembly, 4 out of 9 seats in the IPC Alumni board are up for election. If you wish to run for the board, please send us an e-mail at alumni@ipc.dk and include a photo of yourself and two sentences about why you would like to run for the board. We will then create a portfolio of candidates that will be sent out before the general assembly. Please let us know about your candidacy and send us text+photo no later than the 11th of April 2019.

We hope to see as many of you as possible!

Be part of the IPC Alumni Human Rights Project in Bosnia this Summer!

IPC Alumni is hereby launching its human rights project “Step in: Human Rights Education and Communication in Conflict Resolution” taking place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 20-26 August 2018!

For this project, IPC Alumni needs YOUR help! We are looking for country coordinators, who will coordinate the group of Alumnis from their country. Country coordinators will have the task of promoting the project among Alumnis in their country. It is a big plus if you are connected to any organization, NGO etc. in your country. Country coordinators will have travel expenses and accommodation covered by IPC Alumni!

More about the project:

Building on our experience from The Human Rights Cafe at IPC, the project will be implemented in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project will be composed  of 24 Alumnis from various countries. The participation in the project will provide the participants with broader knowledge about human rights, with special focus on children protection and refugees law, responsibility to protect doctrine (R2P), together with knowledge about international institutions and organizations supporting promotion and education about Human Rights, such as United Nations and Council of Europe as well as conflict resolution methods. Besides the theoretical knowledge, the main aim of the project is to equip the participants in practical tools and methods needed in youth work, in order to enrich their skills and simplified acting as Human Rights educators. The project will be run by experienced youth trainers with academic background and practical expertise from humanitarian and development projects related to the topic of the project.
The main core of the project is 6-days long training course. During the stay, participants will be participating in games, simulations and exercises about the topic. Due to active participation in activities and evaluation provided for any of them as well as for the whole training, the youth leaders and youth workers will learn how to implement the knowledge learned in practical activities and workshops after being back home.

Eligible coordinators/participants: Residents in one of the European countries, and also Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, or Tunisia
